International Baccalaureate Diploma Program The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program is an internationally acclaimed, comprehensive, college-preparatory course of study. Beginning in fall 2011, Stoneleigh-Burnham School will be the only girls school in New England to offer the IB program. Designed as a two-year curriculum in which candidates fulfill requirements in six different subject areas, the program also mandates the completion of three core elements central to the philosophy of the IB curriculum: Theory of Knowledge, an Extended Essay and Creativity, Action Service (CAS). Student to Faculty Ratio Stoneleigh-Burnham School is small by design and boasts a student: faculty ratio of approximately 6: 1. Class size ranges from just a handful of students in some advanced placement courses to 10-12 students in others. Each course allows for one-on-one interaction between teachers and students. Our faculty members are always willing to schedule time for questions or extra help if a student requests additional help. Geographic Distribution Stoneleigh-Burnham School welcomes students from across the country and across the world. We have students from 10 countries and more than 10 states. We have a highly diverse group of young women from a variety of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. We are a global community with students coming from as far as Asia and as nearby as Greenfield, Massachusetts, reflecting our international outlook on education.
