Students at a low intermediate level of English work to improve their English grammar, vocabulary, and syntax by reading American and world stories and writing frequently in journals. Both creative and critical writing challenges increase as the students' facility with English improves. Listening and conversation skills are emphasized through group activities, field trips, and plays. This course prepares students for ESL Intermediate: Literature and Composition.
