Dear Stoneleigh-Burnham School Community,
I am honored to be moving into a position of greater influence at the school I love. Stoneleigh-Burnham School's commitment to educating girls, the rich history of traditions that connects us, the sense of tranquility one gets when coming up the tree-lined driveway, the exhilaration of Housemeeting, the anticipation of 100 Nights are some of the many reasons I feel so devoted to this community. Suffice it to say that all of these unique aspects of Stoneleigh-Burnham made it easy for me to say yes when invited to serve as the next Head of School.
As Head of School, I will be responsible for inspiring the Stoneleigh-Burnham Community and working on behalf of students' healthy growth and development - intellectual, personal, physical, social and spiritual. Achieving this requires clarity of purpose, consistency of expectation and consequence, and a great team of administrators, faculty and staff working together with the School and its students. I am lucky to be able to begin from such a strong foundation.
As an alumna of Stoneleigh-Burnham School, I feel great pride and great responsibility to live up to what I know our school deserves in its leadership. While my experiences have prepared me well to undertake the challenges of a headship, I know that no one person can effectively lead a school today. I will therefore need the help and support from every constituency to be successful, and I look forward to developing strong working relationships with all of you. I am anxious to get started.
Sincerely,
Sally Leach Mixsell '69
