The Interscholastic Equestrian Association is an opportunity for upper school students at Stoneleigh-Burnham to belong to an equestrian team. Instead of horse shows where riders are required to bring horses, IEA shows are a test of a rider's ability to adapt to any type of mount. Riders on the IEA Team are randomly assigned a horse for each class, one jumping and one flat, and are judged on their equitation against riders at their level.
Stoneleigh-Burnham School has been a member of the Interscholastic Equestrian Association since its official inception in 2002. Before that the IEA was an informal competition between preparatory schools across the country. Stoneleigh-Burnham School was one of the original teams and boasts four consecutive National Titles. Today, more than 200 teams and 1600 riders belong to the Interscholastic Equestrian Association, riding across the country.
