Step Right UP Dinner Dance & Spring Family Weekend
Hello,

The Stoneleigh-Burnham School Spring Family Weekend is only ten days away, and I'm starting to get excited about the extended SBS community coming together. We’ll see each other in our daughters’ classrooms, performance halls, sports fields, and at the Equestrian Center to celebrate the work that they are doing, and to share in each other’s company.

As you've probably heard, the culminating event of that weekend is the Step Right Up Dinner Dance, a fundraising event in support of the annual fund. Last year's event was a big hit, and raised over $3,500 which contributed to operating support in 2011. Funds raised by this event support the school we've chosen for our daughters, specifically for financial aid.

As the SBS Parent's Association liaison to the 8th grade parents, I look forward to the possibility of seeing you at the dinner dance, an evening of good food, games, music and dancing where we can have fun and get to know one another. The event also builds community by bringing the students, parents, faculty, alumnae, and past parents together. If you haven't purchased tickets yet, go to www.sbschool.org/dinnerdance soon so we can get an accurate count for food.

A lot goes into putting together an event like this, and if you'd like to spend some time working with other parents to help make it happen, we definitely need more volunteers that weekend. An hour or so of your time before, during, or after the event would be greatly appreciated. Specific tasks include: setup, decorations, registration, and clean-up. If you'd like to help, or have any questions, please feel free to be in touch with me.

I hope you had a wonderful time with your daughter over spring break, and that the season is treating you kindly. See you on Family Weekend.

Best wishes,
Davis Bates
