From the College Counseling Office

If your daughter is in the 10th or 11th grade, she took the PSAT in October and has recently received her scores, her answer sheet and her test booklet. I encourage you to check in with her about the test. You may also view her scores by logging in to your Naviance college connection account here.

You will need an initial login password which you may obtain from Sharon Weyers or from Lauren Cunniffe.

The PSAT measures:

  • Critical reading skills
  • Math problem-solving skills
  • Writing skills

PSAT/scores are reported on a scale of 20 to 80. In 2010, the average score for eleventh graders was about 47 in Critical Reading, 49 in Mathematics, and 45 in Writing Skills. The average score for tenth graders was about 43 in Critical Reading, 44 in Mathematics, and 40 in Writing Skills.

Reminder: SAT test prep sessions are running on Saturday mornings in January and February. Contact Lauren Cunniffe for more information.

From the Dean's Office

  • Middle School progress reports and Upper School grades & comments for the fall trimester were mailed on Monday, December 5th. Please let our office know if you have not received them or have any questions.
  • The fall trimester Honor Roll Assembly was held on Tuesday, December 6th and certificates were presented to all students who earned academic honors for the term. For a complete listing, please click on this link.
  • Winter break ends on Tuesday, January 3, 2012. Dorms open at 12:00 noon and all boarding students should be back by 7:00 p.m. Winter trimester classes resume on Wednesday, January 4th.
  • A reminder that day student families must email Sharon Weyers or call (x248) the Attendance office prior to 8:00 a.m. for any absence due to weather, illness or medical appointment. Whenever possible, medical appointments should be scheduled outside the school day and during vacation periods. If that is not possible, 24 hours' notice to both the Health Care Center and the Attendance office is appreciated.
  • Boarding and day students are required to fill out a pink Off-Campus form for any special permission involving college visits, planned academic absences, and for night(s) and weekend off campus requests. This form must be filled out completely, signed by all parties, and submitted to the Dean of Students by 12:00 noon on Thursday (or 24 hours ahead) of the expected departure.
