In Emerson Hall at 7 p.m. on both Friday, February 24 and Saturday, February 25 and 2
p.m on Sunday, February 26, Stoneleigh-Burnham will present "Happy End," a
musical comedy by Bertolt Brecht and Elisabeth Hauptmann. The play takes place in 1930s Chicago and follows a moral battle between an underworld gang led by a mysterious female leader “The Fly” and a Salvation Army contingent led by “Major Holiday”.
Director Kim Mancuso, Music Director Amy Rogers Crawford and the strong cast of students have been hard at work rehearsing the challenging music and memorizing lines. The three-act musical debuted in Germany and subsequently premiered on Broadway in 1977, starring Christopher Lloyd and Meryl Streep.
