Three riders qualify for National IEA Championship    
Francesca Eremeeva, Kaleigh Intrator, and Grace Powers, all class of 2015, have qualified to compete at the National IEA Championship on May 16th-18th at the Big E in Springfield, MA. Our Upper School IEA team finished 7th out of 16 teams at the Zone 1 Finals held at Mount Holyoke on April 13th. 
Debate Excels at Hamden Hall Lincoln-Douglas Tournament    
Five seniors attended the 4th Annual Hamden Hall Lincoln-Douglas Debate Tournament on Sunday, April 6th with their coach, Dr. Paul Bassett. As is required of Lincoln-Douglas style, students debated both sides of the resolution, "The US Federal Government should substantially reform elementary and/or secondary education in the United States."
SBS Celebrates National Poetry Month with Festival featuring Poet Karin Gottshall    
Stoneleigh-Burnham School welcomes Middlebury College poet Karin Gottshall as its guest poet to the Poetry Festival on Thursday, April 10 at 7 p.m. in the Capen Room. The event is free and open to the public.

Junior Kaleigh I. Earns IEA Sportsmanship Award    
Kaleigh I., an 11th grader from Florence, MA, was awarded the Interscholastic Equestrian Association Sportsmanship Award following the IEA Zone 1, Region 7 Finals held on March 1st.
SBS to Host Combined Test & Dressage Show on April 5    
Stoneleigh-Burnham School will host a Combined Test & Dressage Show on Saturday, April 5th. The event will use 2014 USEF Eventing Dressage Tests and will be judged by Ann Wiktor. The closing date for entries is April 1, 2014.
Upper and Middle School IEA Teams Advance to Zone Finals    
At the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) Zone 1, Region 7 Finals held at Stoneleigh-Burnham on Saturday, March 1st, the Upper School team took Champion and the Middle School team took Reserve Champion, earning both teams coveted spots in the Zone 1 Finals to be held April 12-13th at Mount Holyoke College.
Varsity Basketball Ends Season with 22-3 Record    
After making it through the first round of the NEPSAC tournament with their win last Wednesday versus Lexington Christian, the Stoneleigh-Burnham Owls fell during the semifinals on Saturday, March 1st to the #2 ranked Hamden Hall team.
Varsity Basketball Defeats Lexington Christian to Advance to NEPSAC Semifinals    
In front of a packed Emerson Hall crowd, the Varsity Basketball team defeated Lexington Christian Academy by an overtime score of 61-54. The Owls advance to the NEPSAC semifinals to be played versus Hamden Hall on Saturday, March 1st. 
Four Students Earn Awards in 2014 Scholastic Art Competition    
Tianyan (Friszi) J. '14, Qianqian L. '15, Jingran (Joy) L. '14,  and Taryn T. '14 have earned awards in the 2014 Globe Scholastic Art Awards.
Varsity Basketball Ranked #3 Heading Into New England Prep School Basketball Tournament    
With a 20-2 record, the Stoneleigh-Burnham Varsity Basketball team has been ranked #3 in the New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class C Girls' Basketball Tournament. They will play #6 Lexington Christian Academy at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26th at home.
For third year in a row, Varsity Basketball Takes RVAL Championship    
While advancing their season record to twenty wins and just one loss, the Varsity Basketball team has once again clinched the River Valley Athletic League Championship by defeating Dublin School 41-17. 
SBS Celebrates "Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day"    
In place of regular classes on Thursday, February 20th, our students participated in hands-on engineering challenges by grade level. “Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day” was the capstone of the school’s celebration of National Engineers Week taking place Feb. 16-22.

Debate & Public Speaking Society Earns 1st Place at Kingswood-Oxford Tournament    
The combined effort of four Stoneleigh-Burnham School speakers earned the team first place out of eleven schools at the Kingswood-Oxford Speaking Tournament on Sunday, February 9th.
IB Students Lead Trout in the Classroom Project    
Stoneleigh-Burnham School students in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program have begun raising Brook Trout in a large fish tank that sits just inside the entrance to the Jesser Science Building. The Trout in the Classroom project is promoted through the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife and the Trout Unlimited Organization.
Four students participate in Future City Engineering Competition    
Four SBS middle school students are participating in the Future City Competition, a national, project-based learning experience where middle school students imagine, design, and build cities of the future.
Eighteen Students Represent US at International Folk Festival in Thailand    
Eighteen dancers and musicians will represent the United States at the Surin International Folk Festival in Thailand from January 15 to 25th. Performing nine out of ten days, the students will present a 20-minute dance and music piece, choreographed by Ann Sorvino, which tells the story of American author L. Frank Baum’s “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” tales.
SBS Welcomes BIG INK to Geissler Gallery    
Stoneleigh-Burnham School will present a collection of monumental woodcut prints to be on display in the school’s Geissler Gallery January 17 through February 18. Organized by Easthampton, MA-based printmaker Lyell Castonguay, the exhibit, BIG INK, showcases very large woodcut prints from more than a dozen area artists.
Varsity Basketball takes Championship at Annual SBS Holiday Tournament    
The Varsity Basketball team defeated Miss Hall's School to take the championship in the annual SBS Holiday Basketball Tournament.
