At Stoneleigh-Burnham, music, visual arts, theater, and dance are fully integrated into our curriculum and that means our girls are encouraged to express themselves creatively every day.
Creative pursuits are known to strengthen intellectual achievement. When many schools require just two arts credits for four years of high school, we require two per year (and most students take three). As a result, at our school you will hear girls singing – in the dorms, between classes, and on stage. You will see girls playing bass and drums in Rock Band. You will see dancers en pointe. You will walk by stunning artwork on display throughout our hallways.
Students participate in a rich and extensive selection of courses, from beginning through advanced levels in instrumental performance, studio art, vocal music, music composition, dance, and theater. Students may also choose to focus on an independent study project while preparing a college portfolio.
