Summer at Stoneleigh-Burnham

Stoneleigh-Burnham is pleased to offer three new overnight summer programs for girls in 2017!

Art Intensive (7/16 – 7/21)

The SBS Art Intensive is our week for aspiring visual artists to come experience all our arts center has to offer. Art Department Chair Sara Gibbons and teacher Hannah Richards direct the program, offering daily classes in drawing, painting, ceramics or fiber arts. Each afternoon, campers can continue with morning projects, or try their hand at various electives – from drawing comics to making a pinhole camera. Register now.

Ages 12 – 16
$900/session

Animation Intensive (7/16 – 7/21)

Professional artists and animators Aya and Jason Brown will show campers a number of 2D animation techniques, and help them develop a short film of their own design. The week culminates with a show in Geissler Gallery in conjunction with our Art Intensive. While we have no prerequisites, parents should note that animation work rewards remarkable patience and focus. Register now.

Ages 12 – 18
$900/session

Tinker Camp (7/2 – 7/7)

The SBS Tinker Camp is our one-week intensive for girls interested in coding, design challenges, and maker projects. Each day we offer the girls immersive, hands-on challenges that aim to stretch their imaginations, develop teamwork, and adopt a problem-solving mindset. The week is led by SBS STEAM Coordinator and Science teacher Andrea Tehan Carnes, along with Eric Schimelpfenig, owner of Greenfield’s MakerSpace and digital fabrication expert. Register now.
