Affinity Groups

These groups are at the heart of the community experience at SBS and as affinity spaces offer students safe environments of support and shared experience. We recognize that these groups, like the world around them, are intersectional and that everyone deserves to be fully seen in their layered identities. In these groups, student leaders among and within these affinity spaces partner with adults to lead community education on an ongoing basis.

  • Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA)A group for LGBTQIA+ identifying students and their allies that provides the opportunity for dialogue around gender, sexuality, identity, intersectionality, and community.
  • Learning Differences and Neurodivergence Alliance (LDNA): A space for neurodivergent students to meet and share experiences, advice, and support; serves as a platform to educate the community about neurodiversity.
  • Students of Color Affinity Group (SOC): A group that supports any student of color interested in joining a broad conversation around identity, culture, and social justice.
